Why do I need a Yellow Fever vaccine before travelling?
The Yellow Fever vaccine helps protect you from infection when travelling to areas where the virus is present. Many countries also require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination for entry, especially if you have visited or transited through a Yellow Fever–risk country.
Which countries or regions have a higher risk of yellow fever?
Yellow Fever risk is mainly in tropical regions of Africa and South America. Examples include countries such as Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Brazil, and Peru. Requirements vary by country, so always check official travel advisories before your trip.
Do all countries require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination?
No, only some countries require proof of vaccination. Requirements depend on your travel route and transit, andwhether you are arriving from or have recently visited a Yellow Fever–risk country. It is important to check the latest rules from the destination country’s embassy or official health authority.
How long before my trip should I get vaccinated?

You should receive the Yellow Fever vaccine at least 10 days before entering a country that requires the vaccine. The International Certificate of Vaccination only becomes valid 10 days after your vaccination date.

How long does the Yellow Fever vaccine last? Do I need a booster?
For most people, one dose of the Yellow Fever vaccine provides lifelong protection, and the International Certificate of Vaccination is valid for life. Boosters are generally not required unless specifically advised by a doctor.
