General

What men’s health services do you provide?

We offer GP-led assessment and testing for hormones and fertility, sexual health and STDs, prostate and colorectal cancer screening, chronic condition screening (diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure), nutritional deficiency testing, and general wellness reviews. Imaging referrals (e.g., prostate ultrasound) and specialist referrals are arranged when needed.

When should I consider a testosterone check?

Consider testing if you have low energy, reduced libido, erectile concerns, mood changes, increased body fat, decreased muscle mass, poor recovery from exercise, or fertility issues. Screening is particularly relevant from the mid-30s onward or earlier if symptoms or risk factors are present.

Do I need to fast or prepare for hormone testing?

For best accuracy, morning bloods (before 10am) are preferred for testosterone. Fasting is not required for hormones alone, but may be needed if you are checking cholesterol or glucose at the same time. Avoid heavy exercise and alcohol the day before, and tell our doctor about supplements or medications (e.g., biotin) that can affect results.

Can TRT affect fertility?

Yes. Conventional TRT can suppress sperm production and may reduce fertility while on treatment. If you are trying to conceive, discuss non-suppressive options (e.g., selective therapies or hCG-based regimens) and timing with our doctor before starting TRT.

What sexual health (STD) tests do you offer?

We provide discreet, confidential screening with same-day consultation. Common tests include:

  • Comprehensive STD Panel — HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B & C, chlamydia, gonorrhoea
  • Targeted testing — based on symptoms, exposure, and risk
  • Pre-marital screening — recommended before marriage or family planning

Our doctor will advise on the appropriate tests and follow-up schedule.

What is included in male fertility testing?

Core assessments include:

  • Semen analysis — sperm count, motility, morphology
  • Hormone profile — testosterone, FSH, LH, prolactin (as indicated)
  • Nutritional tests — zinc, vitamin D, iron/ferritin
  • Genetic or carrier screening — e.g., thalassaemia, if planning a family
  • Imaging — pelvic/prostate ultrasound if structural issues are suspected
How do I prepare for a semen analysis?

Abstain from ejaculation for 2–5 days before the test, avoid alcohol and high heat exposure (e.g., hot tubs) for several days, and follow the collection instructions carefully. Inform our doctor about recent fevers, medications, or supplements.

Is the consultation private and discreet?

Yes. We provide a confidential, non-judgmental environment. Results and treatment plans are discussed directly with you, and referrals are coordinated only when appropriate and with your consent.

Which chronic condition screenings are recommended for men?

We commonly assess:

  • Diabetes — fasting glucose and HbA1c
  • Cholesterol — lipid panel and ratios
  • Hypertension & cardiovascular risk — blood pressure, kidney function, electrolytes, uric acid as indicated

Screening intervals depend on age, family history, lifestyle, and prior results.
