Integrative Care for Chronic Pain Management

A structured, 65-minute clinical pathway where our GP, Physiotherapist, and Acupuncturist assess you together - coordinating in real time, so your treatment plan is precise from day one.

Why Chronic Sports Pain Needs More Than One Perspective

If you play sports regularly, whether it is Hyrox, padel, pickleball, tennis, running, or any other long-term physical activity, you are likely familiar with pain that lingers. A sore knee that never fully settles. A shoulder that flares up every few weeks. Lower back stiffness that returns after every session.

The typical approach is to see one practitioner at a time: a GP for diagnosis, then a separate physiotherapy appointment days later, followed by acupuncture or TCM elsewhere. Each professional works independently, often repeating the same questions, and the insights from one rarely reach the next.

At Regis Medical, we have designed a better way.

Our Integrative Care for chronic pain management brings our GP, Physiotherapist, and Acupuncturist together in one coordinated session. Each practitioner sees you on the same morning, briefs the next in person, and all three convene at the end to agree on a single, unified treatment plan. No duplicated consultations. No lost-in-translation referrals. One structured hour, three expert perspectives, one clear plan.

Who are suitable for integrative care

This pathway is designed for patients who meet the following profile:

  • Active adults aged 30 to 60s
  • Engaged in a regular sport or physical activity on an ongoing basis
  • Experiencing a previous injury that has not fully resolved, or chronic strains and pain that keep returning
  • Otherwise healthy, with fewer than two to three other medical conditions

This assessment is not designed for acute injuries sustained in the last few days, post-surgical rehabilitation, or complex multi-system conditions. If you are unsure whether this pathway suits your situation, our team is happy to advise you before booking.

How the 60-Minute Integrative Care Works

Step 1 - GP Diagnostic Assessment (15 minutes)

Your session begins with a thorough clinical assessment by our General Practitioner. Our Doctors will evaluate your pain history, review any previous imaging or treatments, and conduct a physical examination to identify the underlying cause of your condition.

This step also serves as a clinical safety check. The GP determines whether your injury is suitable for physiotherapy and acupuncture on the same day, or whether further investigation such as an X-ray is needed first.

If our GP determines your injury is acute and requires immediate imaging, the integrative pathway is paused. You will only be billed for the standard GP consultation and X-ray fees.

Step 2 - Physiotherapy Assessment (15 minutes)

Our Physiotherapist receives a direct, in-person briefing from the GP, including the diagnosis, specific pain points, and any areas that require caution. With this clinical context already in hand, the Physiotherapist conducts a targeted functional assessment: evaluating your movement patterns, joint mechanics, muscle strength, and range of motion relevant to your sport.

There is no need to repeat your history. The handover has already happened.

Step 3 - Acupuncture (30 minutes)

Our Acupuncturist receives clinical insights from both the GP and Physiotherapist before beginning treatment. This means the Acupuncturist knows precisely which areas to target and, just as importantly, which areas to avoid.

The result is a highly focused acupuncture session informed by two prior clinical assessments, not a generic treatment based on symptoms alone.

Step 4 - The Clinical Huddle (5 minutes)

At the conclusion of your session, our Doctors will discuss their findings openly, align on a diagnosis, and present you with a unified, long-term treatment plan.

This plan includes recommended follow-up frequency, home exercises or precautions where relevant, and a clear outline of your recovery pathway. Follow-up sessions may not require the full integrative format every time, our team will advise on the most appropriate schedule for your needs.

What Makes Our Integrative Care Different

A Clinical Protocol, Not a Wellness Package
Many clinics offer bundled treatments under broad labels. Our Integrative Assessment is fundamentally different because it is built on real-time clinical coordination.
Live Clinical Handovers
Each practitioner briefs the next in person, in real time. No information lost in translation. No duplication of effort. The clinical data flows seamlessly from one professional to the next, ensuring every decision is informed by the practitioners who came before. You tell your story once. Your condition is diagnosed once. And each expert builds upon the insights of the others.
Unified Treatment Plan
Our practitioners discuss their observations openly, align on a shared understanding of your condition, and collectively design a single, unified long-term treatment plan. This plan includes recommended follow-up frequency, specific home exercises, precautions to observe, and a clear recovery pathway. Every recommendation comes from agreement between our GP, Physiotherapist, and Acupuncturist, not from three independent practitioners working in silos.
